Various methods and treatments are applied to these patients based on how responsive they are to the treatments in order for them to live their lives productively and without the use of drugs.There are also supplementary programs that help quicken the rehabilitation process. These include local support groups, extended care centers, recovery and sober houses, residential treatments, out patients and many others. There are also rehabilitation centers that focus on gender and age specific programs.In order to be able to properly treat a patient with drug addiction, physicians and counselors must be able to examine the specific aspects, conditions and situations that the drug addict is subject to in order to determine which drug rehabilitation method would be applicable. It is also important to note that the instances of drug addiction are affecting younger and younger members of the society. This is a disturbing fact that drug addiction centers are well aware of. In reaction to this, they implement various programs depending on the urgency of the case. They are assessed to determine who among them are able to go to school and those who are no longer capable of doing so; a choice between being an inpatient or an outpatient will be considered.The location of treatment is also one f the considerations. My friend fell asleep watching “Nostradamus: 2012″ last night and I heard some of it – I haven’t thought of it in awhile but that reminded me. So many people believe that is when the world is going to end. I honestly think it’s just like a Y2K thing, a hoax, I’ve seen documentaries where people who study Mayan culture say that there is no proof to back up that the Mayans thought the world was actually going to end then. I’m just wondering what everyone else’s opinion is, whether you think it is, or you think it isn’t. I just wanted to see everyones side. :)

I will be nervous in 2012 too. I don’t personally believe it will be the apocolypse, but that fact that SO many people all over the world do will make havoc. The quality medical care Ted Kennedy quickly received after his brain cancer diagnosis would not be available to Americans if the U.S. adopted the healthcare policies advocated by the Massachusetts Senator and other liberals, an expert opines.

One day after an MRI found a tumor, Kennedy was diagnosed with a malignant glioma, and less than two weeks later the tumor was removed by a leading brain cancer specialist at Duke University Medical Center.

He will take the chemotherapy drug Temodar and receive radiation treatments, according to Robert M. Goldberg, vice president of the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest.

“Of course, with his wealth and power, Kennedy would get good treatment anywhere,” Goldberg writes in an opinion piece published in the New York Post. “But the same care is available to every American.

“Not so — if we make the health ‘reforms’ called for by Kennedy and other liberals.”

Those reforms would include universal healthcare coverage, and countries with such a policy “always wind up cutting corners simply to save money,” Goldberg observes. “People with Kennedy’s condition are dying or dead as a result.”

The expert cites the example of a 22-year-old woman in England — which has universal coverage — who complained of headaches for months, but had to wait a year to see a neurologist.

She then had to wait more than three months to get what Britain’s National Health Service decided was only a “relatively urgent” MRI scan.

Three days before the MRI appointment, she died.
